Zhenyu Jason Zhang is a Professor of Soft Matter Engineering at the School of Chemical Engineering, University of Birmingham (United Kingdom). Modulating the physico-chemical characteristics of soft matter, including polymer, proteins, fibres, and bacteria at interfaces, including their configuration and response to external stimuli, to develop innovative and sustainable formulations has been a key theme of his profile. He is an Associate Editor for Journal of Surfactants and Detergents, Frontiers in Coatings, Dyes and Interface Engineering and in 2023, he was awarded the McBain Medal by Royal Society of Chemistry and Society of Chemical Industry in recognising his contributions towards colloids and interface science.
