I’m Suneru Perera, a Senior Scientist at POS Biosciences Corp. in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada, specializing in process development and scaling up plant-based proteins and bioactive ingredients for food, feed, nutraceuticals, and cosmetic industries across North America. Over the course of my career, I have collaborated with startups to multinational corporations, helping them scale innovative ingredients and validate processes for commercialization.
My passion for this field was sparked during my graduate studies, where I became actively involved with the American Oil Chemists' Society (AOCS), collaborating closely with the Proteins and Coproducts Division. I’m excited to attend the AOCS Annual Meeting in 2025, where I look forward to reconnecting with fellow professionals and continuing my contributions to the alternative proteins and sustainable ingredient solutions.
