Dr. Sankar Devarajan is an Associate Professor and Director of the Nutrition and Food Science Program at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff. He is a distinguished expert in nutritional and clinical biochemistry with over 20 years of research experience and 20 years of teaching in the field. Formerly the Regional Head of the World Health Organization. His academic career spans several countries, including India, Oman, Japan, and the U.S. Dr. Devarajan has led numerous clinical trials and dietary intervention studies that addressed chronic conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, obesity, and dyslipidemia. Dr. Devarajan has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and book chapters covering cardiovascular health, diabetes management, and the functional properties of foods and oils. Dr. Devarajan has received multiple accolades for his contributions, including the Distinguished Teacher Award, several international travel grants, and investigator awards from prestigious organizations such as the American Heart Association.
