Gembloux, Namur, Belgium
Aleksanda Gorska is a teaching assistant and PhD candidate in the Analytical Chemistry laboratory at the faculty of Gembloux Agro-Bio Tech, University of Liège, Belgium. She holds a master’s degree in bioengineering from the same university. Her research, supervised by Professor Giorgia Purcaro, centers on enhancing analytical methods, both at the sample preparation and instrumental levels, for the analysis of food contaminants. She specializes in contaminants requiring multidimensional chromatographic techniques (e.g., GC×GC-FID/MS, LC-GC(×GC)-FID/MS), with a current emphasis on the challenging-to-analyze mineral oil hydrocarbons. In addition to method development, she also evaluates the in vitro toxicity of these contaminants.
