My name is Ren Wang and I am a PhD candidate at the University of Alberta in the Nutrition and Metabolism program. My thesis research is in nutritional immunology, focusing on the role of long-chain polyunsaturated fatty acids, including docosahexaenoic acid, arachidonic acid and eicosapentaenoic acid, in early-life immune system development and their implications in food allergy and obesity. I am also actively involved in teaching, mentorship, and leadership activities, including being a student liaison in the Health & Nutrition Division in AOCS.
