Iván Jachmanián is a full-time teacher and researcher at the “Universidad de la República” in Montevideo, Uruguay.
At present is the head of the Fats and Oils Laboratory, whose field of work includes the analysis and characterization of edible fats and oils from diverse origins, determination of physicochemical properties, the design of specific modification processes, and derivatives for biofuels, among others.
The team is responsible for forming graduate and postgraduate students in this area.
