This presentation explores the antioxidant analysis of biodegradable and edible food packaging, with a focus on their release and activity in food simulant systems. It highlights how the composition and environmental factors of the packaging matrix significantly influence the release and efficacy of antioxidants. By employing advanced analytical techniques to assess lipid oxidation and antioxidant activities, this review provides insights into the controlled release mechanisms and the complex interactions between antioxidants and food systems. Additionally, this review advances the understanding of antioxidant activity within active biodegradable and edible packaging systems, showcasing how these materials can dynamically interact with food environments by emphasizing the importance of optimizing packaging design to maximize antioxidant efficacy while minimizing material waste. Therefore, this presentation provides a comprehensive review of antioxidant analysis methods for biodegradable and edible food packaging, highlighting their transformative potential for food preservation. It offers a framework for developing next-generation packaging materials that improve food quality, safety, and sustainability.
