Abstract: The usage of enzymes for oilseed refining have become an aid for oil processors to turn their heavy chemical usage processes into more friendly production and solve the challenge of reaching consistently their product specifications (low phosphorous and metal content). Enzymatic refining is better known for soybean processing plants around the world, but the usage of enzymes can be also implemented in other types of oils, such as: canola oil, rice bran oil, non-edible oils, fat waste and others. The enzymatic refining is a robust solution that can help with different types and qualities of fats which can deliver multiple benefits for the processor in different applications. We will discuss different examples of utilization of enzymes that can help the oil processor to understand implementation and versatility of enzymes for edible oil processing and biofuel production sites.
